CAE for me as well. Mainly because I'm a local and the car sits like 5 minutes from them.

If C4 drivers are interested I could ask him if it fits.

Afraid it doesn't, I spoke to CAE a couple of weeks ago

Talking to a couple of other owners we believe there may be a way to make it work, but its far from straightforward, and not a straightforward bolt in

Be interested to here what was the idea to try and make it work , I was also thinking of welding like an oval shape that go around the shaft ... But maybe the solution is to buy the boxter one with cables and ask a company called Ringspann in Bedford to make a plate with a system to adapt to the rod .

It involved replacing one of the U shaped plates in the exisiting linkage 9lower one IIRC) with the upper one turned upside down and an RS lever, this would then attach to the CAE shift.

It was a compromise but I think would allow you to use the CAE shifter.

Was suggested by a member with more technical knowledge than myself!

Well,
i did this for my C4 - ruf inspired - but was not fully satisfied.

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...undertray.html

The custom shifter and the secound half-pipe with fork and custom bolt is for sale... You need to re-use one of your half-pipes, need to buy 4 M6 bolts with washers and could refit the ruf short-shift to your C4 w/o modifying the undertray...

PN if interested

regards from munich :-)

That's a shame to hear. That was my inspiration. Could you tell me exactly what you weren't happy with and any other feedback?

The shift in (or is it to?) the second gear was quite harsh/hard. The handling (length of the shifter, position with the rs-seats and the steering - fixed with 5P harness) was perfect. But - the shifting was so hard, i got aching in my right arm, when driving some hours with the car.

Shifting was so hard, that i lost time, because the shifts were extrem slow.

We used an other gear-oil, but also when the box was warmed up, it was not that good like expected. With a cold gearbox it was horrible, when driving in traffic...

I decided to refit the original shifter....

My second gear is still not that good "shiftable" like new, so i think it could be possible, that another C4 owner is happy with the short-shift solution...

regards
