Nothing wrong with dealers. I think hobbiests forget the time value of money. I have friends that deal in vintage rolexes. And they troll the net and find incredible deals which they then flip. But I forget that while I am at work making a living, they are trolling for these deals to make their living...and then sell the watches to guys like me who don't have the time to look.
As a hobbiests, i like to compete with the full time guys, but if I add up all the time I spent looking, I wonder what that time away from work and family actually cost me with my normal billable rate...

Now that I have all the Porsches I can garage, I still search daily/nightly for the next one. Searching is almost more enjoyable than owning, for me. As such, I don't view looking as a chore or work. Looking IS part of the hobby.

Thank you to those that offered advice. My car arrived today. I ended up buying a red/tan 1994 c2 with 73k/mi. Leak down showed ~6% per cylinder. Everything but the radio works.
Needs a good bath. I'll post pictures once I get it cleaned up. And again, thanks to those who offered words of advice or pointed me towards cars...

Not the greatest photo shoot. But my arms and shoulders are sore from all the cleaning. The previous owner took decent mechanical care of the car, but the paint and wheels needed some work. So I spent almost 4 hours yesterday doing paint correction. Wash, clay bar, oxidation removal, and wax.

Very nice. I may be unloading the cup 1 on my car as the brakes I will run won't clear them (need to verify). Let me know if you might be interested.

Wow. That sounds like a fun build. No worries about the thread, it's kind of worked its way to a close anyway.
Appreciate the offer on the wheels. I think I'm looking for something aftermarket though.
