Default My 964 RWB - "Hollywood"

Two weeks ago my build was completed by Akira Nakai of Rauh Welt Begriff. Probably like many of you, before my build, I found myself unable to find a lot of real information regarding the product. I wanted to create this thread as a place for you all to ask any questions you might have about RWB 964's.

As far as my build goes, I am more than happy with the results post RWB. I opted for the 964 street kit (Less wide than the Royal Fenders), with the champion wing and no fender wings. I also bought a ducktail wing and had it painted at the same time so that I have that option in the future. I wanted the build to look like it could have been a "body in white" factory race car prototype.

Here is a list of everything that went into my build:

KW Clubsport Suspension with HLS front lift
993 EVO RS Uprights
Turbo Tie Rods
Turbo Brakes
Sunroof Delete
Lightweight RS Carpet & Rear Seat delete
RS Door cards
Alcantara dash and door caps
CYC Group Roll Bar
CAE Shifter
MOMO Supercup seats
MOMO Mod 7 Steering Wheel
MISC Rennline Parts - I.E. Aluminum floor boards, pedals, airbag delete, lock pins etc...
993 Door Handles
Fifteen52 EVO SC Wheels
TOYO R888 tires

I have yet to build the motor, but that time will come in the very near future.

I am probably missing a lot, so much went into the build. A big thank you to Matt at Fifteen52 for the wheels, Platinum Motorsport for the excellent paint, KW, Toyo, Dorian at DV mechanics.... this project was the result of a lot of friends coming together to make something awesome and satisfy a long term dream of mine.

Here are some phone pics of mine, real ones coming soon!

I've always felt that form should follow function... And I also think that this simple idea is the very basis of the Porsche design principle.

Love it. That thing is bonkers. Not too crazy about the wheels but the rest is pure sex. Hope to be in something like this soon.
Good work brother.

I really like the wheels! +1 for the ducktail too!
Awesome build man. Did I see some graphic renditions for your car floating around? Still an option? There were. Couple that looked really good...although I dig the all white version too.
What are you thinking of for the engine?
Cheers

Mixed responses here, I'll help level it out a bit more! Looks sweet, I'm more of a narrow body/sleeper car kind of guy so like the idea of no fins on the front bumper and fitting the duck tai suits me. Like the wheels but not sure about them in white. As for form following function I'm sure this will come right again when you build the motor. You just can't have 250hp pushing wheels that wide so here's hoping you build a monster, a couple of turbos should do it! Congratulations on realising a dream.

Im not a huge fan of extreme mods, but I have to admit there is some sense of purity hidden in this one. Actually as RWB builds go I have to say yours looks the best IMO.

Congrats on the car. Love white on white. What are your plans for the motor?

I really have a love/hate with these cars.

I've seen several RWB cars up close and personal. They are style cars, the fact that they will schedule a photoshoot before the car is done just demonstrates the focus on hype. The videos of RWB "races" would be laughable if it weren't so tragically dangerous. The roll cages I've seen I would have cut out and replaced; the design and workmanship was horrid it was all about the tuner look.

That said they have one of the best design eyes for the body kits. They do get the lines right and the glass work is way beyond a typical kit. Albeit at twice the cost. Most of the stuff they do for the suspension is just to is get the "stance". However it is still additive to the performance of the car. The restrained cars like this one and Leh Keens are really very cool looking cars.

But if you don't want to be labeled as a poser pay as much attention and $$$ to the performance, handling and safety as you have for the look. Doesn't have to be a turbo, a nice 3.8 would be fine with motec and ITBs, LWFW, close ratio box, swaybars, trans /engine mounts, RS fan, heat bypass, headers and of course an exhaust that actually uses the second cutout.... Ditch the street tuner rollbar and get something that will actually work, a fire extinguisher (RWB cars seem to catch on fire) and finish the braking system. Lighten up the car, plexi windows spend the time to remove the undercoating....Then you'll have the car that looks cool and won't get panned...
