I'm so happy to have my slightly scruffy 1990 driver with 325k km. I can drive it and not worry about it, whereas if I had one of the really nice ones I'd be reluctant to ever take it on the road.

Monetary value - low.
Fun value - high.

I haven't... but I'm wondering if the recent Appreciation of the 964 is due to the economic situation.
if that were the case in Canada, they would now be handing out 964's. gratis.
50000 = 67000 Canadian dollars. Canadian dollar going down in value almost everyday.
wanna buy some(tar sands) oil?

Actually in Canada the drop in the dollar relative to the US dollar has resulted in an increase in pricing for a lot of items.

My wakeboard boat is worth 20% more this year vs. last year solely due to the US exchange.

In the previous five years the price of used wakeboard boats has dropped in Canada as more Canadians used their purchasing power to import boats into Canada from the US. Now that has stopped or at least the landed cost of the boats has gone up by 30% over two years ago.

The same impact is there on our 964s.

Just saying that the bad Canadian economy (ie low oil prices) does not impact the price of 964 in Canada as the values of them are more aligned with the converted US price.

Default REALISTIC 964 C2 Coupe values

I don't know if it's the part of me looking for a good 964, but it seems to me that prices have gone down a bit. Not much for the c2 but quite a bit for the c4. They were selling around the time of the pebble beach auctions in the mid 40s but now they are selling in the mid 30s.

U serious? That is like the difference between a tip vs manual car ?!?!

Is it due to mechanical issues w C4s?

^^ yes the awd system on these is too complex and repairs very expensive. The 993 system was much simpler. People are pricing down complication. It's also heavier and not as pure for the enthusiast.

The mechanical system is actually quite durable. Very, very rarely does something go wrong with it. The weight penalty is there, though, I agree. The biggest problem with the 964 AWD system as I see it is the way the car actually drives. it's a 25/75 split and far from ideal.

He paid $31k for it from Holt in November 2012 with 42k miles, looks like he put on 10k in the past ~3 years and has now "lowered the price" to $55k. Will be interested to learn the sale price on this one.
