Central Warning light question
This may be kind of a newb question, but I am going to ask it anyways because I don't have a definitive answer.
Does the central warning light (!) illuminate for any reason not elsewhere/ redundantly displayed on the dash?
I think I know the answer, I just wanted confirmation from a few of you.
Thanks gents!

My understanding the big ! light comes on to alert you of an issue usually signified by another warning light. ie low fuel will trip the red ! as well as the orange warning light. Cancel the big red ! on the switch but the low fuel light remains

So just for clarification, in a perfectly working 964, when the parking brake is pulled the (!) light goes on, and when it is released it turns off? I only have experience with my basket case 964 and have none with a car in excellent/properly working condition.

That's what mine does and everything else on the car works as it should so I assume this is normal

If the big ! light comes on and no others lights are on, it probably means that some bulbs are pulled (or burned) out. I pulled the airbag and seatbelt bulbs from the clock until I fixed the clock problem so I didn't have to stare at them and have every passenger anxiously ask "why are those lights on" I did have to turn off the big ! every time I started the car though.
