So.....why does a car with 56k mi. need the front seats redone? IMHO, Something about that car doesn't add up...

Hi, I don't post, but felt bad when I saw that ebay car might have been purchased from someone on this great board. That company has been discussed alot on Pelican. Below are a few links (happy reading you'll need a beer):

I'm wondering how much a 100K mile C2 5sp would be worth these days? Mine is a California car and always has been. Clean bill of health.

$204,000. Just make sure and use the words "rare" "air-cooled" and "classic"

You forgot the most important one... "iconic".

(Icon of what exactly? I have no idea...)

I'm wondering how much an iconic, investment grade, rare, air cooled 100K mile C2 5sp classic would be worth these days? Did I mention it's white?

Depends on a lot of things. Condition and records being most important. Without any of that info, somewhere between $40k and $50k provided clean carfax and general good bill of health.

The key words mentioned are absolutely critical to wringing the last buck out of a good faith buyer. Also, especially if you are listing the car as first owner, second owner, consignment, or selling for a friend, you add the all important qualifiers of knowledge and authority that all representations are "to the best of your knowledge" or " it is your understanding" or " as best as I can tell", or " there are no papers or receipts with the car, the PO took them and cannot be contacted." With representations like that, why would you need or even consider a PPI?
