Suspension upgrade. KW kits are popular here in Europe and I believe they're now available in the US. This will make a huge different on how well the car handles if it's still on the original shocks/springs.
As a cosmetic upgrade, you could remove the black bumper inserts to give a cleaner look?

From what I understand, that hard top is not permanent, but also not easy to fit since you have to remove the soft top and mechanism. ie, its not like the 996 hard tops that you can just clip on. Plus, I think the Porsche hard top is very, very rare.

D.Moris make a nice hardtop. They are made in France and are very high quality. They can be removed somewhat easily (2 bolts on each b-pillar and six nuts across the back). I have one and just need to get the windows installed. They are a very close match to the extremely rare OEM hardtop.

If your car does not already have one, a Strut Tower Brace makes a noticeable difference on a Cabrio. Simple to install and not expensive (for a Porsche part...)

Upgrades should be tailored to how you plan on using the car? For me, my cab is a daily driver. I have installed H4's with 90/130W bulbs & relays, H&R Greens with Bilstein HDs, strut brace and updated stereo with MB Quart speakers. I have also swapped the seats to 12-way with heaters to make driving with the top down more comfortable.
