New Member! First time Porsche owner
Hello everybody!
I figured it was about time that I signed up to this website to share my new 964 purchase and hopefully learn everything I can about the car, while also meeting some fellow enthusiasts. I have been a long time VW/Audi/MG enthusiast, but have always wanted to purchase 911, more specifically a 964. That dream finally came true recently. I purchased a 1989 C4 from it's first owner. The car has 29,700 miles and is in near mint condition! I just got it back from its first major service, but plan on learning the in's and outs of the car just as i have with my past cars. Anyways, looking forward to reading/learning as much as i can from this fine community. - Garrett
Recently Sold:
01.5 B5 S4
1973 MG Midget 1275 - Complete restoration completed
And the 964 sorry for the crap pictures. Not done with my detailing process. The 997 is not mine!

wow! i have not seen any near that price, but i have come across a few in the 30-40K mile range in the high 50's. I was truly surprised when the seller threw that number at me. It needed around 4500K worth of work, so I think he underestimated the value of the car.
edit: Forgot to mention that we had agreed on a price about a year and a half ago as well.

thank you! It takes quite a bit of patience, but clean 964's are out there for a reasonable price. I definitely suggest you go the 964 route. I've driven my fair share of Porsches ranging from 997's, 991's, Boxsters, and a Cayman S.... and for some reason I still love the 964 the most.

Thanks guys! i'm excited about it. I just started digging into some diy threads/technical stuff about the car. Much different from what I am used to.
The MG was a great car. Spent 4 years of my life restoring it, then taking it to shows with the MG clubs around Pittsburgh. If you haven't driven a Midget/MGB/MGB-GT, i suggest trying it out sometime. They are the jag e-types for the poor man

Wow that is clean. Great car and great price! What, you didn't want the original Blaupunkt?
I am also on the lookout for the same thing. I am from Pittsburgh, although moved MD a few years ago. And also recently sold my Audi, except a TT.
Hoping to score like you did, soon.

funny you bring that up, I reached out to the previous owner last evening about the original radio. I might actually install it back into the car just for the sake of originality.
I think the key to finding gems is to make friends with as many people as you can in the car community. I found this car through a friend of a friends, father. In fact, i met the initial friend through an Audi group. Takes years of patience and not impulse buying another one
What did you get into after the audi? I had a hard time giving mine up

Congratulations and welcome! That was a very clean B5 S4 that you owned. I'm sure the new owner loves it. You'll love your new Pcar. If you have any questions or need any help be sure to ask!
