Default 964 Distributor to COP and CAM sync

I m doing a Link ECU installation and i have few questions

Is here someone who has installed COP spark system to 964 3,6 184kW.
Is twin spark system necessary? Has someone tried just one COP per cylinder?

Is there someone who offers CAM sync system instead of distributor?

I wouldn't be surprise if it works perform perfectly well with a single plug,
Experience it with a (different) engine checked back to back on a dyno

From my experience with a broken belt between distributors:
With only one plug per cylinder it is not the same at all: 'Choked' comes to mind.
Easy to try, just remove the 12 V from one ignition coil and feel the difference: The cylinder head was designed for 2 sparks.

You absolutely need to fire both plugs! If you want to go with single plug setup you need turbo cylinder heads. (this is due to the positioning of the plugs and shape of the cylinder heads in the twin plug setup).

Problem with COP is heat and lack of space. I know it's been done but tricky.
I would just use waste spark coils (2pcs 2x3) and make custom plug wires. I don't see any benefit in fitting the coils on the plugs...

CAM pos sensor kit you can buy from clewett engineering. It is not expensive and comes with everything you need. It goes on the drivers side camshaft end.

I did this setup some years ago in my 993. I can try to find the thread for you.

Edit: you need 2 of these:

Bosch 0 221 503 010
