Default Windscreen wipers won't start?

I was driving yesterday when it started to rain. Turned on the wipers but nothing happened. The washer works. Tested another fuse and relay but still dead. I've tried to search but no luck. They worked maybe 2 weeks ago. I can't belive the engine suddenly died.

Is there a fix for this? Is there a switch at the bottom of the stalk or where is "the trigger" for the wipers?

You able to check for current at/to the wiper motor?

No. I haven't started with any tests yet. Yesterday I just removed the cover aorund the steering wheel and had a look at the stalk. Also sprayed some electrical cleaner at the joint of the stalk.

I just wanted to know if there are som obvious things to check and in which order before I start to remove parts. As said, the wipers worked just fine about 2 weeks ago, no glitches or anything. Now totally dead. The washer works which makes me think the stalk is OK. The motor could be broken but can it really just die like this and shouldn't the fuse react on that? It feels liket he problem happened at an instant and not like a part that has worn out. More like a broken fuse or something.

But I can only see one fuse, position 24 in the box. The realy No 42 is only for the intermit function. Are there any other fuses, relays or is this handled by the stalk housing?

Just the relay and fuse I believe, nothing else (ignoring rear wiper set up). The airbag steering wheel had a wiper contact cable for some reason (safety maybe). But imagine as a cup tribute C2 the airbag wheel is not on the list!

Back to the wiper steering column connections then and also sticking a meter on to the motor cables for circuit operation.

Your correct :-). Both airbags are gone and locked out with the bridge contact. There's a black contact cable in the housing which is hanging loose. I guess that's the cable you mean.

OK, I'll try with a multimeter.

Ha ha! Sorry guys! Found a loose hanging cable near the wiper motor. It looks like I forgot to reconnect it when I had the fans and fuel tank out this winter. So I must have dreamt that the wipers worked!

Now the car is 100% again!

yeah, it was a silly mistake! But I had to remove the plastic cover over the HVAC to see it and that wasn't my first thought in the paddock with the rain pouring down.
