Turns out my car was purchased new as a "company car". Not quite sure of the original owner's job, but I found a Tyco Submarine Systems Ltd. (subsea fibre optic cable networks) business card under the passenger seat.

Original owner who bought it new was Carl ashplundh of the ashplundh family. I'm sure plenty of you have seen those huge orange trucks and them trimming tree branches around utility lines throughout the country.
