Three Wheelin'
Hi Larry,
Welcome to Rennlist, lots of great car lovers on here. I know a while back there was a thread on the Sprinter Van contest and a lot of us voted for you. It would be great to have a day with all the NE guys. I would love to have some advice on how much paint I have remaining on my Black 964. I purchased a paint meter to try and get a read on it but still am a bit nervous hitting 25 year old paint. Comparing a bunch of 964s' paint thickness with a pro around sure would make me feel better before I try to bring the swirled paint back to life. Hope to see you around!

Hey larry
Man, its good to have you here. I've learn't so much from your vids, they've inspired me and given me the confidence to get into detailing. Albeit at a hobbyist level. My first paint correction was on my Black 64. In fact i've had to do it twice as my mechanic thought it would be thoughtful to wash my car for me!!! I've even had other pcar owners ask me to do their cars but as an amateur i'm reluctant to work on someone else's pride and joy.
The most helpful thing i've learnt lately from you is about arm speed on the polisher and residue management. Keep up the great work

I have to say it took longer than I thought for you to get on there, but better late than never. There are some good numbers of us around the NY/tristate area, and some get-togethers would be really interesting time. A detail day would also be very helpful, have to say I'm way to intimidated to touch the single stage paint on my own.

Thanks everyone! Pumped to be here. How many cars for a detailing clinic? Can we start a count? My first real question: I want to get a CAE racing shifter but they said it doesn't fit on a c4. Why????

Larry, that's correct the c4 shifter is different. Check out Adrian's 964 enthusiast companion book if you haven't already, crazy amounts of info there!
Also welcome, love your videos. I have a detailing session needed on my 964 as we speak.

Great to see you here Larry ... looking forward to more of your awesomely produced vids!
they don't make them for the C4 .. can't explain exactly why but I think its about differences in the rear of the shift rod .... but that just saved you a whack o' cash!
I would get the goldenrod/rothsport short shift kit if it were me. The 996's look good witht hat monster CAE shifter but it looks like a borg conversion in a 964 imo.
I recon the rothsport so popular on here and the 993 forum because it looks as good as it works and a good amount less.

It actually came off with caranuba wax and a lot of elbow grease. Watched a chemical guys video where they showed how to do it. Needless to say , i was pretty upset with the wifey for lack of supervision!
