I had the PC680 for years, in the winter it struggle a little bit, but never let me down, I always cut the batterie when I left the car for over a night, I make sure all lights and equipment are off before starting the car , still I wait until the C4 pump pressurise the AWD system before stating, it weightS 7kg , 16 Amp and more important the CCA ( starting power ) is 160, I just fitted now A lithium ; weighting 1,5 kg, 20amp. And 440 cranking power ,very happy so far

Anyhow, a friend of mine recently opened a company and makes batteries in carbon fiber casing, which weigh a lot less than the voltphreaks and other options and is actually cheaper. Testing was completed just this year.

as you can see: 1.18kg or 2.5lbs vs. the voltphreaks 5.25lbs for the 22.5Ah version.

If anyone is interested let me know and I'll ask him.

Link to shop smaller battery

That also looks very decent, but at 647 Euro's on the website, thats in the same price ball park as the voltphreaks battery.

The Voltphreaks is more expensive, especially if your factor in shipping, customs and tax. Plus its half the weight of the Voltphreaks and looks much better

899USD battery
40 USD shipping
= 840€
+42€ 5% customs
+168€ tax (19%)
= 1050€ or 760GBP / the other one costs 468GBP so about 40% less....

Did you mount it as per jevvy964's impactbumpers.com link?
Any mounting advice?

Its mounted in the smugglers box in an impactbumber car so not much use to you I'm afraid. I am looking at fitting one in my 964 and I think there is just about space to fit one of these against the inner wing where the normal battery usually sits.

Dont quote me on that as I only have the battery to measure up not the bracket yet. You will need to buy the conversion post thingys, worth getting as you buy the battery otherwise you wont be able to use it:

I've still got my old PC680 if you want to borrow it to look at fitment, I probably wont get back to looking at it for another month or so. I'm just down the road in Reading but my Mrs is heading to Windsor tomorrow I think.

is created a monster of thin aluminium profiles to fit the battery at the orig. position with the original bolt :-)

here is a picture without the wiring. I used a heavy duty master-switch from a marine-shop

That's an incredibly kind offer, many thanks.
But as i'm going to have to fabricate my own bracket for both the PC680 and the Yuasa, it makes sense to go for the later as its more powerful, lighter and half the price.

Great job, do you ship to the UK

Could you let me know the exact model you are using, i can't find an 18AH Yuasa NP17 online. Only the 17AH.
