Rennline track mats (full race)
Anyone use them? My carpet is shot and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one and a flood board.
Is the install hard?
Pics would be sweet if you can share.

I just got my Track Mat in the mail yesterday. It's pretty solid. Can't wait to install it. I also got some interior handles too, to replace my tired plastic ones. They also look great. I'll post pics once I install them.
Question about the rivets the mat came with. Do you just drill a hole and press them in? I haven't had a chance to look at what I"m dealing with yet, so just curious. I have the means to do so, so I'm not to worried about it. Just have never dealt with rivets like that.

Hey,
Good choice on the mats. I love mine. The clean look and purposeful design is great.
The brackets are mounted to the floor and yes, you'll need to drill. Once the brackets are mounted, the mats mount up to the brackets nicely. There's some margin to work with in the predrilled mat holes, but it's important to test the fit before you drill.
It'll be easy to do once you start. Post some pics when done. Enjoy/

Cool, I look forward to this project. If you could see my current floor, you'd know why. It was caused by a leak, that was never taken care of, but that will be another project. Looks like it's going to warm up this weekend too, so I should have a chance to get out there. Did any of you put any grip tape on the mat to help keep it from being slippery? I'm probably gonna put a few strips on mine.
And good to see another Michigan 964 owner in the group!

I don't run any grip tape on mine and haven't found it to be a problem. When you are installing the
Rivnuts, make sure to firmly seat them so they don't spin when bolting the mat down.

Many, many of these cars have leaked in the same place. Including mine. And it was for this reason that I fitted track boards albeit that I made my own copies of the cup car wooden boards. I finally tracked down the cause of the leak as being the windshield washer nozzle seal.

My windshield been fixed once before and it never fixed the leak. I need to check that washer nozzle seal and I guess the HVAC has a drain under the car or something. I haven't had a chance to debug this issue since I've got the car, being winter and all.
