Default Need help in finding an Adapter for the 996 TT Brake Caliper for the rear Axle

Hello from Germany,

please forgive me my bad englisch.

I want to put the 996 TT Brakes (Calipers and Discīs) on my 89īC4.

For the front Axle I have already an Adapter for the Calipers. But for the rear Axle I could only find an Adapter for the normal 996 Caliper, not for the 996 TT / GT2 / GT3 Caliper with the original OEM Disc (330mm).

Has anyone an Idea where I could get an Adapter?

Regards from Germany and many thanks for your help.

Have you fitted the 330mm rotor to the back of a 964? Every 964 w/ a rotor bigger than stock that I have seen gives up the parking brake and is a 3 piece setup w/ rotor and hat.

This would be a typical setup only w/ a 993RS rear caliper

once you have the rotor fitted an adapter is easy to make

Thanks for you help...

Parking Brake stands on another Letter ;-). I donīt even think about good solution for this problem.

If my understanding is correct, would it be possible to fit the 964 RS Discīs with the 996 TT Caliper AND the parking Brake?

Is there a Solution for the parking Brake with the 330mm Rotor and 996 TT Caliper?

No, the 964 Rs rear rotors was from an M030 968 and is the same size and spec as the stock 964 rotor, it just has axial holes in it(no a good thing IMO) the 996tt rear caliper wants a 28 wants a 28mm thick rotor the 964 is 24mm and below minimum spec.

I asked the question because I have never tried that if the rotor bolts on then you are 90% done. From the 996 rotors I have seen I don't think it will fit, the 993 and 964 are the closest to being swap-able but even there not close enough

You could use the 996 rear caliper on the 964 rear rotors they are 24mm thick and have the same 28/30 pistons as the and use the same pads.

The only thing I don't like is with either the 996 or 996tt in back w/ 996tt in front there is a lot of front bias

Sorry, but I donīt understand what you exactly mean. My english is not so good.

Is there a solution to make the handbrake fit in the combination 996 TT in front and rear?

And when there is no solution, what could be a solution. Maybe the normal 996 rear Caliper with the standard 996 Rotors (i think they are 299mm). Will that fit with custom adapters? And will that fit with the handbrake?

With no parking brake? Not very practical.

My setup retains the parking brake

Here you go mate

Front: https://www.gmpperformance.com/index...ID=261308&VS=1
Rear: https://www.gmpperformance.com/index...ID=261309&VS=1

Direct bolt on so no need for adaptors...not exactly cheap though.

I never said that it was for a street car, the install I showed was a pure race car.

Yes, there are several extremely expensive aftermarket kits w/ big rotors that you can buy.

The OP is trying to get a reasonably priced setup using oe parts, unfortunately the 964 rear is a real odd ball wrt those parts

I can't get behind using 996 or 996tt calipers because the bias is horrible.

The most common and best of poor choices is to emulate 964RS using
964RS/3.3t front(or 993RS/tt calipers) on 964RS 3.3t rotors(or 928GTS rotors which are not drilled but are the same otherwise) w/ 993rear calipers(or 964RS if you can find them, they are the same except for part #) on stock 964 non drilled rotors(or 968M030 rear rotors for drilled)

you will want to use the 964 C4 brake booster and m/c or 993 brake booster and m/c) and you will want to remove the p/v too to get the rear working as best it can.

You might contact 9products out of finland, they might have something. I know they have a parking brake system for the 944s and such when adapting gt3 brakes. Great product.

This requires 18" wheels, right?

I have contacted 9Products on Monday....but no Response.

@Bill: What you think of 996 TT Caliper with 996 TT Rotor on the Front and 964 C4 original Rear Caliper with some drilled Rotors? Would that be better for the Bias?

I mean if I drive 993 TT caliper and Rotor on the front with the original Set Up on the Rear everything is fine. So why is the Bias so bad if I use the 996 TT on the Front?
