Only a comment from my personal experience... a metallic **** will both be very cold on a cold morning, and very hot on a hot afternoon... basic but I found it to be not so fun when living in extreme climates...
Yes, that's true of other metal shift *****, and the reason for my slotted design...it's essentially an air-cooled shift ****. The slotted shift **** temperature equalizes to ambient much quicker than a standard metal shift ****, given the slots and it being made of aluminum (vs steel).
In terms of other designs without the slots, I'll consider that in the future.
