Wossner Pistons - any feedback
Does anyone have any experience with Wossner Pistons? They do a 3.6 and 3.8 option for $960 which seems very cheap. Cheap is not always the best option though so was wondering if any of you have used them or experience of them

Rabs,
You are right; cheap is not always the best option.
I would ask you what your engine longevity expectations are?
If you are expecting another 100K from your engine, Wossners (and any other 2618 piston) are not the best choice.

Steve I think you have already answered my question. Yes I would be looking for my engine to last another 100K. Its currently at 109K and has quite a few oil leaks and since my secondary distributor belt failed has a knocking noise that needs investigating. I am preparing myself for the possible rebuild and the inevitable costs associated with this. My plan would be to do it once but I am looking at ways to reduce costs if I can without it affecting longevity of the engine. I also realise that short cuts now can cost more in the long run.

They make both.
4032 is a better choice for low-med performance street engines that will not see any detonation. 2618 is the right alloy for high-performance & race engines that get stressed. The biggest advantage to these pistons is that they are made in whatever compression ratio and configuration you want.
IMHO, Mahle OEM is preferred when longevity/durability are the main criteria, however the choice of CR is limited as well as bore sizes.
We do have Mahle Motorsports make custom pistons for us in certain applications, but its not inexpensive to do.
