Any suggestion on electric gas pedal? I'm a bit worried about the torque numbers and want to have some traction control.
It will be a beauty when you are done and best part everything will be easier to work on.

I would not consider E-gas pedal. The beauty of these cars is the cable driven throttle. A properly adjusted pedal will give you all the throttle control you need and I think you will appreciate it once it is all done.

My turbo jumps from 220 ft pounds to 430 in roughly 300 RPM then climbs slowly to 460. It will break the 295's loose in 1st second and third gears under WOT. I have no issue controlling the torque and the old CIS cars are far harder to tame than a turbocharged N/A engine. Although using the HF turbo helped control the on off effect.

That is always something you can go back and do if your not pleased with the results but I think you will be.

Thanks for the heads up. I first thought of limiting boost in first and second gear and I just saw some build threads and some had the fly-by-wire, hence the question.

I'll go for the simple route as a starter

Hi,

the heads are in good shape, but apparently not good enough for boost. He said there are some hairline-cracks in some of the heads, which are fine for an N/A build, but may cause trouble on a boosted engine

Meaning: I need new heads. Not planned at all! Thats gonna mean, its gonna take quite a bit longer. New heads are 1,200€ each
Anyone have good heads or know someone that needs good heads for a rebuild?

Great idea! I looked for some info.
Price seems more reasonable too!

Much appreciated!

So,

I'm back with a lot of info! and thank Mathieu for the input on 9Meister heads.

My plan: 9Meister heads, without any porting. 9Meister couldn't give me any before/after dyno's and not any real feedback. So I think the heads are great, but the porting may be the cause of it.

So I will have them ported by my engine builder, and we will test this set on a stock 964.

For info the 993 heads flow worse than the 964 heads/they are better for portjobs.

Alright.

Still stuck with the heads. The engine builder says it may still not be wise to use the Aluminum heads due to their extreme hardness (piston material), which may cause them to loose strength after continued heat on certain sections.

Thus, that will now fall through.
He is in contact with Xtreme cylinderheads. Anyone know what Material he uses?

Also, with further consultation I would like some input about the LN Cylinders on racecars or boosted vehicles?

I cant find any more real info on real life situations or finished builds that are actually raced.

In addition to that, anyone know JB Racing? I see they have sleeved aluminum cylinders?

Attached some pictures of my heads and the likely rods (997 gt3rs Ti rods).

Hallo,

Thanks for the tip.

Currently the car doesn't look like much. No interior, nor engine/tranny nor front/rear.

You're welcome anytime

Well,

Car is ready to get a cage, but I havent done anytihng with it. Instead I nstalled KW V3 on my brothers GT86!

I am still working on the heads. Trying to find the part numbers for the 993 GT2 Evo heads. In the parts guide I can only find:

993.104.035.44 (993 RS heads)
993.104.033.52 (993 Turbo heads)

Anyone know?

They are of different material to 964 N/A heads, with a more heat stable (but not as hard) alloy used since the 1930's by Rolls Royce. That's kinda nifty

993.104.033.84 but they were only available from Porsche Kundensport Weissach so not sure how much luck you will have nowadays? I know anything and everything 964/993 related was pushed out the door at Porsche Motorsports North America a long time ago.

Dear Jason,

I think those are the single plug heads. Didn't some GT2s come with twinplug?
