Default Is this the stock H5 wiring harness?

Hey guys

My car has a makeshift HID setup and I'll like to replace these with an H4 setup. I'm assuming that the connector in my picture is not the stock connector? Do the 3 wires in the other picture look like the stock wires? Would I able to solder the H4 connector right to those 3 wires?

Thanks

I can't say if those are the stock wires, but the brown is generally the ground wire on the Porsche cars, so I would assume the other two are low beam and high beam. Hope this helps.

Correct, that is not a stock bulb connector. See sample photo below.

As for the stock wires? I would say no. The factory didn't use that mesh style wire bundle overwrap either.

Right above this 3 wires is a bunch of electrical tape and then the mesh wrap begins. Below them is just that standard black wrap in the picture. So I was hoping the 3 wires would be the original as it looks like the splicing happens after them. I'm just not sure how to confirm this.

According to the schematic drawings, the three wire colors should be brown, white and yellow.

Hmmm, that is encouraging. Thanks. It doesn't appear to me the factory wiring grommet has been messed with. I just don't want to spend big buck on the H4 setup and then find out my wiring has been messed with and they won't work.

Look into relays for the H4. It will give you much better light, and more options regarding bulb wattage.
Search here, or let me know and I can assist you.

Excellent thanks all. One more question, does anyone have the wiring diagram that shows which colors go where on the H4 harness?

Thanks

If you are going to convert to H4, then I highly recommend adding relays at the same time so you can run higher wattage bulbs. Here is a schematic that I used.

The pic that Freno a Mano posted is likely stock wiring on a RoW car w/ H4 headlights and city lights.

This is stock wiring on an H5 equipped North American car.

Note how the H5 car has mounting tabs inside the bucket for the headlight unit. The outside ring is just to finish off the appearance. The H4 cars use the outside ring to fasten the headlight assembly in the bucket.

yes correct, stock H4 euro 964.

I add that in euro 964s when you use high beams, low beams remain switched on.

Thanks Vandit. Can you confirm on the H5 that there are just 3 wires going into the plug (white, yellow, brown)? My plan was to buy the Pelican H5 to H4 adapter, cut it in half and solder my 3 wires to the H4 end of the adapter. I assume this would work if I knew which wires went where?

Thanks
