Default Quick question: 964 and 993 steering racks the same part?

I've locally found a 993 steering rack and I was wondering if this is the same part as the 964. I assume it is since most people use the 993 DIY as the guide for doing the work.

Before I buy I just want to make sure it will work.

thanks!

Hi Mike

The 993 & 964 racks are different they have different amount of turns lock to lock the 993 being the quicker of the two. If you look on the 993 forum Bill Verburg has some excellent info on this.
Cheers
Simon.

I had thought to go with a 993 rack for
That reason as well. I haven't done it yet, but I'd like to when the time comes to replace my leaky rack. So if you do the work, give us a good diy thread with pics if you can. I'dove to see what's involved...
