Please excuse the ratty carpet, i am trying to find a pesky water leak. The paper towel is just a stand in for the bottom of a shift boot i will cut and fold under.
I'd be interested if there would be a 6 speed version of this.

In theory; if we just got the **** without the shaft or anything. I could use it with just the 928motorsports adapter and a different boot like the rennline ****?

In terms of shaft, something like this would be possible if the mounting for it was thought out.

Can the **** not be made longer so as to incorporate a shaft sleeve and be one piece?

Mr Alex,
Yes, you can use any standard **** with the 928 adapter. Also, it's funny you posted that Grand brass link. I made a DiY chandelier using their parts this summer

He wants to keep it modular to make it more versatile. He could sell it to Volvo,Bmw, and other Porsche models.

I am interested as well if there is a complete solution, i.e. shift ball, rod and clean surround for the bottom (bellows and mounting ring/plate).

Those look great. Another good option if you don't want black. I personally am going for the Singer look. But either way i think we can make it work.
Yesterday I went to a metal fabricator with my 10 cc syringe. I said i needed it a hair bigger. He pulled out an electronic measuring device. He then took me into the back. Man, i wish i had my cellphone. More pipes/metal than i have ever seen. He pulls out a stainless steel tube and says "this is your lucky day!"
I then took the piece and it fit perfectly over the shaft lever.

It'll look like Ben's shifter that was done by Paul Stephens. Very nice alternative (leather boot instead of rubber bellows and tray) to the Singer but he unfortunately doesn't seem to be interested in making others.

I believe ETB was referring to the bottom of the page, where there are pretty good looking inserts for just the gears. If the original seller doesn't want to make the proper shift pattern ***** for us, buying the cheaper 901 **** and then gluing those inserts on top could work.
