Default *Hopefully* not just another back-date thread

This should be fun! Just started a project with Steve Weiner from Rennsport systems to build my ultimate 964. My inspiration is a car with the power to weight ratio of a modern GT3 but back-dated into the 70's look. I would buy a Singer if they didn't cost so much - Steve is going to help me build something exciting. We are shooting for a street driven daily driver with around 400hp and around 2600 pounds. This will be a ground-up build, complete respray, remove sunroof, fenders, steel flares etc.

This will probably take some time...

Thanks to Steve we found a good 964 C2 to start with. Disassembly has started....

HOT DIGGITY!!!

Steve told me that you guys were doing the "real deal" and I was hoping you'd make it public.

God bless you for doing the right thing all the way through...this should be a lot of fun!

This will be a '73RSR, no?

That's the current thinking. I really like what Singer did with their front bumper and I have never been in love with the large RSR oil cooler. Steve tells me building a customer bumper would be pretty costly so RSR seems like the right fit since all the components are out there.

Umm... there is no such thing as "just another" back date thread! Everyone seems to do it differently and for someone like me on the sidelines, it's fun to watch.

The closest thing I've come to a back date is modifying a beef stroganoff recipe.

Great pics to start. You must be excited, even if as you said "This will probably take some time..." . I don't know what's more exciting the process or the goal. Probably both.
Enjoy! and thanks for sharing.
