Find a shift **** that you like, check the threaded hole in the **** for size, and make yourself a lever of preferably SS polished round stock. Have a thread welded/attached to one end, that will screw into ****, tighten up good, so you know the orientation of the shift pattern on the ****, then cut your existing shift lever to match the new lever, and weld the two together. Pull the rubber boot up onto the round part of shift lever, and Bob is your uncle.

It should be removed first.

I have been keeping all my stock parts to give to the next owner if i ever sell it.
I am looking for a black one though if anyone has an old one laying around. I will be cutting off the top,so it doesn't have to be in good shape.

I do like that you are doing this, because I also love the Singer shifter. To get the ideal look, I would say the welding option is the best, but you still need to find the right tray and boot. In theory, if you just want the **** for now, you can vinyl wrap the exposed shaft in something like brushed-black trim. Would look something like this image, and a small piece of vinyl is pretty cheap.
