Default Quick question about center console

Hello rennlist fam,

Had a quick question for people who have removed their center console entirely or have removed the carpet.

Is the metal center console removable where the the bridge plug and other items are at? The metal part I am talking about is where the carpet under the dash meet and the front of the center console connect where the switches are

Attached is a pic below

TIA,
John

The red bit of metal is spot welded to the tunnel. You'll need to drill the welds off.

How do you like your Rothsport shifter?

My wife's B-day is coming up and i asked her what she wanted and she said a "Short Shifter" Not sure what happened to the days of appliances are a no no I would assume this qualifies but it is what she requested.

So I ordered the entire package with golden rod last week. I hope it is as good as I am expecting.

The combination of the Rothsport shifter and Goldenrod work very well indeed.

Nice foot work nice driving and there isn't a chance I would be able to shift like that with the stock shifter. I can't wait to finally get this thing together. Should be out of the paint shop in two weeks then the final stages of build begin.

thanks for the video.

All spot welds taken off and grinded......

Not the safest way to do it. I just did mine not to long ago. Well ventilated room a few rags and a gallon of zylene. Soak the rag with zylene and allow it to sit on the adhesive. It rolls off somewhat effortlessly.

I had mine looking like this in 4 hours or so. Great for the back

Are you guys removing the ventilation system. Has anyone considered using the duct work that vents out above the rear wheels for brake cooling? There must be a way to make this happen or is there an easier solution?
