Prototipo
Have finally installed the Prototipo ('86 911). Liking it a lot - smaller diameter feels, and IMHO looks, great. Yes views of parts of the gauges are blocked, but it is just a different part blocked than with the stock wheel - slight tilt of the head to see the info I need to see, no big deal.
I ordered the Prototipo and hub adapter from Jason @ Warehouse33, no affiliation, but my experience with them was great - Jason responded quickly, prices were great plus 10% discount for Rennlisters. Got a few other odds and ends with that order as well.
I also installed the JWest Engineering Steering Eccentric Adapter (ordered direct from JWest) - offsets the wheel 12mm up and 16mm rearward - closer to driver. The 12mm upward is (apparently) the same offset as the stock wheel in the vertical plane. As a tall (6'4") person, my seat is all the way back and with the stock wheel, my arms were almost straight out. While only 16mm closer, I find it makes a big difference and my arms are in a much more comfortable position. YMMV.
That was from flexbert....pic of his wheel below

You have a linen dash? I have a linen interior as well, but my dash is all black. My Recaro PPs have the light grey inserts, and this grey dash would look amazing with them.

Paul,
I just went out and sat in mine. My wheel cuts pretty much right in the middle of the speedo. I think i am going to break down and get the eccentric adapter. I want to see what is in your picture. From where i sit, mine is more obstructed .

I've just checked to see what the camera angle was as I didn't think I could see the 100 mph mark. The wheel rim actually obscures the speedo for me at 90mph.
Again, it's largely immaterial at that highway speed.
Cheers,
Paul

It looks good. I like. The only gauge i've rotated is the rev counter. 90 degrees to the left. The old racers used to do it. Its a bit of a posers embellishment but I like it
No, i've got a black dash, headlining and parcel tray cover. Everything else is linen. I've been to see a trimmer to come up with options to go all black. Boring I know and my wife loves the linen. One of the ideas is to use pre fabricated covers from Southbound or Lakewell. I would hope that the quality from them would minimise the need for much re-work by my trimmer to fit.

Unless you are 3 feet tall (UK do the metric translation) you will not get a view of the gauges as in the picture. That photo is well below head level. If 90-100 is obscured, when blue lights are flashing in your rear view mirror that is your indication that you are in the obscured zone. Lol
