Why no interest in LED headlamps?

Hi all, okay tonight I decided I couldn't leave the cree lights in the box anymore. I also have a slight confession that my lights were broken. I had fitted an hid kit that basically have destroyed themselves. I had no hope of the Cree lights working without a ton of work to the wiring.
So took the first bulb and plugged it in, bingo right off the bat it worked. Second bulb in and bang worked. Turns out after three hid kits over two years they have been rubbish.
The Cree lights are a wonderful bulb, really bright and clean. Lit the garage up well and a much better light pattern. I haven't got them fully fitted as I need to get the hid kit out but the Cree bulbs really are good.
I would have taken photos but my phone is in work duh.......
So if there is any doubt about these lights my personal experience has been superb.
So next question is (Steve) can I get them for my M3 now?

Which ones did you end up ordering (model #) and which site did you purchase them from?
Also, it would be great to take some pics when you can!
Thanks. Sounds promising...

I contacted Steve and went the ones he suggested have a better light pattern. I'll pop the message Steve essential me. Well impressed with them in a geeky sort of way. Having been through hid kits, messing around with installs etc these took two mins to fit.

Hi David
Thanks for your enquiry. If you want to go as bright as you can then either of these bulbs are the brightest available on the market.
The G4HL model has a separate driver lead. has 2 eyeballs over the LED and give a very bright spot of light out on the road on low beam. Lots more light on High beam too.
The G5 model has the driver on board at the back of the fan. has 3 CREE bulbs on it on the low side and 1 on the high beam side. This has the best spread of light and slightly better high beam I would say.
So to sum up - the G4HL is the brighter bulb on low beam but the G5 give a more defined pattern for both low & high beam. If you driving mostly on dip beam then the G4HL is the one to go for.
Just put something in the notes to remind me when you order.
Many Thanks
Steve
do you have a link that I could follow to buy them? keen to get cracking on the G5 if that fits my car?
David

I already have the H4 housings acquired for the H5 -> H4 upgrade. Any modifications to wiring needed or can we use the same harnesses to the H5's?
Please confirm which kit is recommended for 964 fitment and that there are no issues with the clearance at the back of the buckets.

If its not good I will revert back to the original ones.
The car goes in for a new clutch next week so I'll have the lights leveled out and pics put up.
