Carrera "RS-4" build
Hi all
Recently returned to Porsche ownership after a few years playing with Nissans and VWs.
I thought I would share my “RS-4” project, the details of which are below. The donor car was an incredibly clean, straight and rust free 1990 C4.
The skunk works at Auto-haus Hamilton have been entrusted to tackle the majority of the work. Auto-haus have 45 years’ experience in building some of Australia’s toughest circuit, rally and street cars. The car was purchased off another long term customer of theirs, so they knew the history of the car and what needed to be done.
We have taken some ideas (and lessons) from their Group 4 project, as well as the C2 RS, C4 Lightweight, even 918 Spyder, tweaked them and added plenty of our own.
Summary:
Mechanical
Engine blueprinted and balanced
Custom (undisclosed) grind Elgin cams

As delivered:
One could have simply fixed up the miscellaneous bits and pieces, done a top end rebuild to address a broken head stud and driven it quite happily…but we had other ideas.

>Uprated fuel pump
>Rear reflector delete panel
Would you mind sharing a few more details?

Wow! That's an impressive parts list and build. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project on the streets. I'm sure you know that you're in safe hands with Grant and the AH boys.
Ps, any idea what your PSS10 weight in a box? I'm about to head to the states & am thinking of buying & bringing back via my oversize luggage.
Cheers
Nick

Thanks chaps
- Heater pipe comes off the fan an does away with the enormous blower. Seen here it cleans up the engine bay nicely http://vintagebus.com/rstube/tube-3.jpg
- Sorry dont have the specifics of the pump to hand. Injectors, plenum, linkages, pump etc all came from Rothsport http://rothsport-racing.com/Products...-Butterfly.htm
- Delete panel is from getty and does away with the rear reflectors as seen here https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...rbo-964-a.html
Are you the lucky bloke who just bought the white 964 from AH?
The bilsteins are up at AH but weight is listed at 20kg so you should be right if you have a good baggage allowance. Not oversize per se but on the heavy side

Given the reverse lighs are in the rear reflector which I'm ditching, does anyone have a suggestion for reverse lights?
I'm thinking that it could be rewired so both indicators come on instead but open to suggestions

Thanks for that! I'm thinking that's the cheapest way to get them landed.
No, I've had mine for about 4 years now. I did see that one briefly hit the market. It's amazing how quickly good 964 get snapped up these days.
