Default Boot / Frunk Catch Spring Broken

I have done a couple of searches on here, but does anyone know any quick fixes, or do I need to buy a complete new unit?...

The frunk lid will release, but will not close. It looks like the spring has gone and the catch is failing to return to the home position. I am currently resorting to pulling the catch into place with a piece of thread.

Thanks Paul

Surprised nobody has had a similar issue. I'll see if it comes apart easily and take it from there.

Thanks for your help

Mine is also floppy, there is a spring on mine but it doesn't do much so I don't think it's correctly fitted.

Haha Yeah I'd see a doctor about that Alex

Thanks for the response, that's interesting. Mine isn't floppy as such. The lid won't actually close, as the catch doesn't return. Hence having pull it into position before pushing down on the badge.

I noticed it, the morning after picking up the car from Lemass and they had the bonnet off, so that could have something to do with it I guess. I'll ask my mechanic, as this could end up costing me a fortune in cotton reels

Ah sounds like your problem isn't with the bit that dangles down being floppy but the slot it goes into not opening to allow it in
