I was thinking the wheels would be wider since my C2 is running a 10" wheel. Was thinking an 11 or 11.5". Any reason you didn't go wider? Just curious.

Yea an 11-11.5" in the rear with maybe a 265/40 tire would fit easily, but it would've of course been a much bigger ET and appearance wise the same. I wanted to leave some leeway for tire size as well because I had zero experience with sizes on a wide 964 with nb axle width. Plus I figured I could always widen them by getting wider inner barrels

Very nice! Looks great from that rear angle, really shows off the body and the wheels.

`Very nice!

How does the air ride set up compare to normal sports suspension? is yours adjustable from the cabin?
Does it work as well on track?

its not properly adjusted yet so I can't comment much, I still need to align the wheels and play around with the shock rebound, but a good quality airride system shouldn't feel much different than coilovers. I don't have any track experience with it yet but I do have high hopes as I know AirRex setups have been put on track cars too, so they should perform nicely.

The e-level system can be adjusted both manually and to preset heights with a touchpad controller. It also has height sensors in all corners so that it reacts to any weight changes, the car will stay at the same height whether empty or loaded. imo its the best air management system there is.

Is there any down side to air? Will it last as long as coil overs? Do they require more Maintenance?
Just curious to know more about your build, it looks mint!

its of course a much more complex set up with a lot more parts including electronics, which increases the risk of something breaking (steel springs hardly do). However with high quality parts, there isn't a major risk and its relatively maintenance free. to be honest I don't know what the typical age spans are for the various parts but I know you can drive a good setup daily for years.

progress has been very slow for the past couple of weeks, but I finally got the wheels aligned and managed to put in longer wheel studs to accomodate spacers. I should have them on next week, and finally time for some better photos...

The car certainly feels better now that the front wheels are not pointing at each other

half way there, put spacers in the rear, will need to modify the edge of the fender a little bit to accomodate them in the front. for some reason the "lip" of the turbo front fenders is not only much wider (at least 15mm) than in the rear (only about 5mm), but also uneven between the two sides... I thought about rolling them but they would need to be rolled so agressively I'm pretty sure I'd crack the paint or bend the outside too, so I might just cut them neatly and leave a small edge like in the rear.

One photo in the dark:

I hear putting in longer studs isn't that difficult. What was your experience? I have to do that to mine as well. Just want as much feedback I can get. Car's looking money!
