Totally agree, suspect mine will look a bit like that in V2 once I realise 400+ bhp is a bit of a handful on narrow body tyres, I suppose its that or slicks

Brilliant, thanks.

Don't suppose you know any details about the conversion specifically any issues/hassles?

Posted some pics in the turbo thread, here is a few of the better ones:

As collected

Removing flywheel to fit engine stand mount

Unfortunately the mount wouldnt fit with the alloy charge tubes so plan B was needed

Looks like it should fit - limited space though.

New home for a few months

Removed SAI system

Removing the alternator and fan

Heat pipe removal

Then the AC/oil pump bracket

Oil pump drive

Oil pump - how cool is that!

Removing intake & power steering pump removed

Intake removed

Kinda clean

I've taken a gazzillion more pics - hope I can put it back together!

You were running a Turbo fan (straight blades) on your Carrera motor?

Yes it would fit the 964 G50 box just fine - that said I've jumped in with both feet now and bought the box that was originally with the tt engine

Managed to get the 2nd turbo off last night and made a start on removing the headers so I can have a peek at the exhaust valves and fit new mounting hardware.

If you are using the original box, does that mean it will 4 wheel drive now?

nope I will keep it 2WD. With the 993 C4/turbo gearboxes you can just run them with nothing connected to the front output shaft. Need to source a shift rod and some way of making the speedo sensor work(993 works off the ABS instead of gearbox) but apart from that it should bolt right in - he says!

Sorry, I knew there was something I had to respond on somewhere

The front spoiler is a 934 copy and sourced locally here in Tokyo. Damn, forgot to ask how much!

Quick update with some more pics of the strip-down.

First heat exchanger off, put up a fair fight

993 TT heat exchanger compared to a 993 NA heat exchanger:

993 TT gearbox, need to remove the viscous coupling and sort a different nose cover. I think I also need to update the mount slightly to run in 2WD mode which I need to look into a bit more:

Second heat exchanger off, put up much more of a fight than HE #1.

Looks almost like a normal 3.6 now:

Clean up/check of the intake:

Half way there:

Never realised the bottom crossover chamber on a TT engine is blanked off and effectively an empty chamber where the resonance flap would be on an NA motor - whats all that about?

Quick clean up of the HE's:

Ive now stripped the engine about as far as I'm going to go. Everything looks good so far so I will start the cleanup and re-assemble. I want to get an MOT on the car before I start the actual conversion so thats the next mission which I'm not looking forward to (melted indicator wires buried under the HVAC stuff - yuk)

Popped down to my local Indy(Northways) about some other stuff and they are about to start the exact same project so had a good old chat to Paul about whats-what. Be good to have someone local dealing with the same issues but I suspect they will rip through the project much quicker than I will.
