So that's maybe a 40bhp gain at the flywheel? Maybe 35? I guess that's roughly what I expected on mine too. Be really interested to see what difference the new engine management makes once you get that sorted out.

Probably more like 35bhp yeah. I think you have the plastic intake and a cup pipe so you may well make a few hp more. Feels very similar to yours did on the long drag up Kemmel at Spa - which is of course why I went for Nick and this spec

So looks like anyhting above 2500 rpm is better.. torque and power? although real gains come after 4000?

Yes indeed, great guns after 4000rpm, quite nice for launches, when you rev out 1st gear you drop back into the power when you shift to 2nd. The thing actually feels fast in a straight line now.

It is nice not to have lost any low down bhp and I'm surprised tbh. I think you need to take the really low rpm stuff with a pinch of salt, its a 2000bhp dyno so a 964 barely moves it.

The ignition map is on the "you spilt my pint" side of aggressive, so you defo want VPower in there imo.

Great stuff! Glad it's finally sorted fella. My engine works in much the same way, when it comes on cam is when all hell brakes loose.

Dave's engine which is also a 3.8 puts out similar figures and his power band is completely linear, no coming on cam - just there. Driving his and mine back to back during the alp tour was a real revelation. Amazing how different all these engines can be...

Is there a thread on Dave's build/spec around?

Yup. He built the engine himself and had help for timing etc...

Running standard intake,
Moronic,
Full exhaust without heat,
3.8 Mahle P&Cs,
Standard con rods,
Standard RPM limit,
320-30 hp

The AFRs on Nick's rom tune look fine, 13-13.5 across the board; still some headroom in the injectors it seems.

Much more power now after 4000rpm with a torque curve that's wider - obviously you can really feel this on the road, and gains a few hp before 4000 too.
gotta be happy with that. must be nice to have it back on the road
