As far as transmissions go, as you probably already know the shorter the gearing the more rpm you want

Here's a comparison of a 964 g50/03 and a 993/95-20 w/ the same engine tirs and rev limit, not too different except that the /20 has a fual economy 6

Here's the same 964 tans compared to a race tranc g50/30 used in 993Cup and RSR. the big difference is how close the /30 rgearing is

But the Cup and RSR also had an additional 500 rpm to play w/ and a commensurately narrower toque band that you want to stay in, stock 964/ has a max rev limit of 6700(6100 hp peak) and a wider power band so doesn't really need tighter gearing so much

Just 10-20 hours more and you're ready to go! ;-)

With the additional stiffness from the roll cage did you need to do all the seam welding?

If you have any more detailed shots of the cage and how it transitions towards the front I would appreciate it. Also did you acid dip the tub?

Nice project should be a blast.

I am curious about the cage requirements under which you race. It looks like this is a LH drive car, so why is the top of diagonal not starting above the driver head? That is a requirement in by the US racing bodies. Also, using a 2 piece diagonal in the US is acceptable, but cage builders typically use one piece for diagonal and 2 piece harness bar.

Good luck with your build. It looks like a fun project.

cage complies with FIA standards and is loosly based on 964cup and 996cup cage , the reason i put the diagonal this way is to alow a little more room to tilt and or move the seat backwards .if you look at 964 cup cages you wil see it was made in the same way only later 996 and 997cup cars had the cross mounted there.
