Gooding auctioned a black 1992 America Roadster with 12000 miles this past weekend in Monterey and it sold for $123,200......

$43k when it really should have been $35k but two d!cks got in a pissing contest in the final minutes of the auction that ended up costing one of them $8k.

That's for a 50k mi, pretty much not molested, C4.

Based on that sale, looks like there are several C4s on the RL marketplace and other sites whose price needs a $5-10k haircut...

I remember user Enso sold his completely redone C4 some time back and he started by asking something in the $40k range. His car was high mileage but he had rebuilt and repainted pretty much everything (documented in several RL threads). Eventually I saw it listed on PCA Panorama for $32k and I guess it sold because shortly thereafter the new owner made an introduction thread on here.

Not to start an argument, but I'll say it again, what you paid into the car isn't what is worth. Just doesn't work like that. Trust me I wish it did.

Prices are coming off the 'bubble', most of the advertised cars are overpriced and just sitting.

I am ok with that.... I bet he will get a good price for it...May not go right away.. but it will. The amount of time that goes into these builds..... sometimes years to finish them. Some just don't want to wait and are willing to pay for it. Each of these builds are so unique to ones personal taste...this makes for a harder sell sometimes.

I am building mine for me...no one else....and don't intend to ever sell it.

Should be complete by next summer possibly later......
