The Evolution of Flat Nasty
I am relatively new to this forum and to Porsche ownership in general. I have owned my 964 for a little over two years and in that time have put in a whopping 10 miles of poorly running, wanting to constantly stall, and poorly handleing bliss.
I purchased my car sight unseen and knew it was a project vehicle from the get go. I was able to score it for a very, very reasonable price {much lower than what I see these days atleast }
The initial condition was a masterpiece similar to a picasso, ie looks great from 20 feet away but the closer you got the rougher it got. That didn't bother me because I enjoy working and modifying vehicles and making them my own. My 964 was the perfect starting point for me as it had solid components, including a 3.8L engine build as well as a TPC supercharger already installed.
My understanding about this car is that I am now the 3rd owner, the first was a texan who put the initial big $$$$ into it, the motor work was performed in a well renown porsche shop in Florida. He lost interest and after it sat unclaimed at the porsche shop for many months, sold it to a lady in Fl whom used it as a place to store dropped frenchfries and spare change. Eventually its neglect started showing through and her family grew, so she sold it for cheep. her advertisement didnt initially include the extras and it wasnt until after I began talking with her that I realized this car had some significant work done to it in its past. infact, the car came with a folder with over 40K inreceipts from work done to it
I have big plans for this car, and over the last 2 years it has already made big changes. For any purist types out there this will not be the thread for you. Some of my mods may be well received while others not, but the car is slowly morphing into the porsche I dreamed of as a kid. I will start off with a nice picasso pose from the manditory 20 feet away. I will add updates to try and catch up over the next few days
