I was able to score some 4-pot rear 964 brakes to replace the stock 2-pot ones. a bit of paint, some new shoes and whalla! better stopping power.

I also replaced the CV boots and repacked grease in the rear which should button up the mechanical issues in the car (that I know about thus far)

isn't that caliper and disc on the wrong side?
Loving how clean you have everything looking.

Chiefyb - I believe that brake mounting set up is correct, the mounting tabs on the swing arms are set up for mounting in this position.

The next step in Flat Nasty's evolution is a biggie!!! I am concerned that good ole FN looks a bit anorexic, especially around the wheel well area. I have been collecting the parts for a wide body conversion for closing in on 2 years now.

The hardest parts to find were the bumpers and side sills/shark fins. I was able to source some genuine Porsche 965 front and rear bumpers and side sills/fins.

Take a look at your nipples
You'll never bleed the system with the calipers like this.

Or enjoy really soft brake pedal feel from the air trapped in the top of the rear calipers

Ahh,

That makes sense!! I couldn't figure out how I could switch the calipers to the back 1/2 of the wheel without a ton of fabrication.... Doh!

Thanks guys, I'll have to get those switched around before I try and bleed them.

next is putting the plastics on to figure out the needed body cuts

its kinda cool to see how much wider the new plastics are than the stock body lines

as flat nasty is lowered, and i wanted to add a splitter which limited my choices to brittle fiberglass, i spent a ton of time reinforcing the fiberglass on the rennline splitter i ordered, I also built a custom aluminum skid plate for the front end which will protect the splitter.

Im sure on the track the stock splitter would be fine, for Montana roads the fiberglass reinforcement as well as this skid plate will come in handy

to get everything on the front end rock solid and fitting correctly i built a number of custom brackets which will support the skid plate and make the front bumper assembly more rigid

Thank you guys for the props!

with the plastics in place I can test fit the metal weld on flairs and figure out how much of the body needs to be cut away
