The Evolution of Flat Nasty

the cage will bolt through the floor through custom designed plates to distribute load to the reinforced body edges.
It also will bolt into the seat belt mounts and I have welded in some mounting points behind the doors where the cage will also bolt nto. Ths should have the benefit of making the car nearly as rigd as a coupe
here are some pics of the custom rear scab plates the cage will mount to in the back of the cabin

Thanks for all the postive feedback!
I spent the weekend welding and got all the various brackets inplace. here is the rollbar currently. I still have some tweakng to do to it but I am pretty stoked on how it is turning out

Three Wheelin'
Nice work! Love the double-hoop. I'm amazed that it's taken this long for someone to put one together. The single hoop is not at all eye-pleasing in my opinion. Possibly a bit over-engineered with the horizontal bars!
Unfortunately, most of the body flex happens along the rockers/floorpan in a cab. Not surprising- it is essentially a flat sheet tying the front and rear of the car together. Not much to do to correct that outside of welding plates over the rockers or tying the halves together with bars from a cage.
Look forward to hearing your driving report- a supercharged 3.8 would be quite a beast!
Enjoy!

I got the cage fabrication fnished up, the rear hoop was added to give me a rock solid mount for harnesses. These first 3 pics show my rear cage mounting points. They bolt into the seatbelt mounts

and here is everything bolted into place, its kinda tough to get a good overall picture of the cage. With the cage in place its time to start on the next step of the interior

Thank you both for the props;
Stuart, moving to the UK would be a blast but at the speed I work I'm afraid I wouldn't be a very profitable asset,

well its been awhile, life sometimes gets in the way of porsche fabrication.
my next project for the interior is maximizing the space that used to be the back seat. I like the idea of the rear seat storage area porsche sells as an aftermarket deal so I built my own. It fits with the cage and houses a sub woofer and some speakers.
ultimately this will of course be painted & carpeted

Hiwind/Black betty; thanks for the props!
I probably will paint the cage black but haven't completely decided yet
here is the closest pic I have of the back of the car with the cage in at this time
