Are you planning on plugging the hole in the tin and engine carrier? Otherwise, the engine cooling fan is going to be pulling hot air from behind the rear bumper where the exhaust resides. That's the point of the engine tin. It isolates the cooler top (intake) side of the motor from the hot exhaust side.

Interesting point Vandit about the hot air from exhaust, I am glad you brought that to my attention. I am going to keep an eye on engine overheating; if need be that will be an easy fix to place an easily removeable plate over the hole

In responce to your question, I am not sure what the design features are to the exhaust. I have tried to do a breif internet search to get info on the muffler but havent found much info on it. When the engine is running the exhaust gasses come out between the driver side and passenger side in a 25:75% ratio, not sure if that helps answer the question

The first porsche job in the new shop; nothing too exciting, fixed a powersteering leak and replaced a couple hoses, new oil/fuel filters and an oil change.

more work, now on the ignition system.

The previous owners never did the distributor vent mod in the car. I watched the rotors while I spun the crank and noticed the 2nd rotor wasnt spinning. Looking inside the distributer I found alot of rubber chunks. The Distributer was removed and disassembled. Lots of great online writeups on how to do this online so I wont go into details here

As suspected the belt was torn but not all the way through, still a couple fibers attached

Now I decided that the perfect thing to compliment the supercharger would be to add an intercooler

I contacted TPS racing and after a number of discussions and measurements got the ball rolling for them to fab up a intercooler

While I waited on the intercooler I took the oppertunity to take down the top engine components, fix some leaks, give it a good cleaning and preare it for the intercooler

So jealous of that garage and all the space you have with the car up on stands. I miss having a garage. I currently have a tight one car space, no at all possible to work on a car in there unless im only working on the ends.

reinforcing and strenthening the crossmember, metal was welded on to the top lip, the rear side pieces were reinforced with triangular metal inserts, and the hole I cut for east crankbolt access received a boxed in metal reinforcement around its periphery
