GP White back together Again!

Simon, I think your car is great and a credit to your hard work but from just the trunk photo a few posts back I can see lots of weight saving opportunities
delete your ABS system and brake booster, change to a biased pedal box, lightweight bag type washer bottle with thin walled silicone washer jet tubing and one washer jet nozzle, remove the bonnet stay, make a lightweight kill switch bracket, remove the foil metal inflation instruction sticker, drill lightening holes in your fuel tank steel mounting strap, use lightweight battery cable
Are you allowed by the regs to remove the spot welded tyre bolt down bracket, battery reinforcing panel, bonnet catch reinforcing panel? If you are cut them out and every other bracket you don't use off the car.
I'm not meaning to pick holes in your efforts to date but my job makes me look at excess weight on cars in a bit more critical detail than most people
As you rightly say every little helps as it all adds up, don't ignore the smallest of parts when looking for weight to remove. The devil is in the detail. Also agree 100% with less weight is more, better acceleration, better cornering, better braking, you win around the whole lap
For some ideas with weights have a look at my Project Lightweight C2 thread (easily winner of the driest thread on here as I've yet to get to grips with posting photos) , to date I'm up to 156kgs removed and still have a long way to go before I need to start thinking about swapping over to lightweight parts.
1000kgs is a good goal, not impossible but not super easy it would make it boring, if motorsport was easy it would not be as fun as it is.
Also if you want the lightest weight exhaust go with Inconel tubing

impressive !
removing all this weight and still having 250 kg between the gearbox & engine at the back, made me wander if it would upset the handling...

Hi and thanks to you both for your enthusiasm!
Captain there is a lot of other areas and the ABS system is one of the main ones. At the moment it is standard and as result intrusive. I looked at Tilton pedal boxes last year but without driving a64 with one had concerns of input required pedal feel etc. have you tried one?!
Thanks for the exhaust tubing tip!
Cheers Simon.

1100kg with no fuel, that is quite light but you have to aim for 1000kgs
Why not post up some pictures of the different areas of your car
Lots of eyes on it will give you more ideas for getting down to your target weight.

Yeh will do I've got the car back at home now so it's easier to get some better pics! The biggest weight gain I've got has been the roll cage it's about 60/70 Kg's but a necessity! I'm going to start drawing up loom and considering fitting a Stack dash only thing is I love the std dials and don't want to lose them!!

I've got a Heigo bolt in full cage with double door bars the material type is not specified other than tensile & yield dia38.00 2.5 wall thickness. The total weight with the cross brace rear bar and additional door bars is just over 60Kg's.
I know when I picked up the 4 door bars to fit them I was quite surprised at how heavy they were

Simon,
How did you attach you timing splitter?
Need one for a sprint at Crystal Palace next month and not sure about the best way to attach it, might need to stick out more than yours as Ive got a cup tow hook fitted?
