I don't know where you get your information from, but 550hp @ 0.8 bar is done quite regularly on high compression turbo engines. If you read the thread from the beginning, you will see this engine was build from a 3.6 C2 engine, ergo the lower 0.8 bar boost.

But 550 HP from 0,8 bar, I never heard of it! I would expect you needed 1,2 bar!

compliments again for the way you tackle problems!

Andreas
Actually these numbers are not optimistic at all. The strongest run was 567hp to be exact. This is considering a 13% loss in the drivetrain.
The dyno is very exact as well, it connects straight to the driveshaft. No rolls.

Yesterday I was at the track and I had no problem overtaking a 997 turbo S on the straight. The GT3's where nowhere. I have tracked this car several times and the proof is not in the numbers, its in real life when you realise how everything around you is awkwardly slow.

1280kg and a little over 700Nm does that.

As far as you comment on knocking. The engine is tuned very well now with the VEMS ECU. As I wrote before, the original knock sensors are tested by Porsche on their original setup. One important thing that has changed is the 3.8 Mahle set. This changes the capacity of the original knock sensors to sense knocking. And actually my engine was knocking without the Motronic doing anything.
So I did get a lot of power by having a lean running and knocking engine. But that was before, on the Motronic.
Now with the VEMS I have more power and more control (it lowers the boost a bit in the higher rpm region for example)
Zero knocking so far.

Unfortunately I have nothing on video yet.
First run yesterday was with a still damp track and during the second run on a dry track I spun off and hit the rear bumper. Car still drives so I drove it straight to my workshop to get it fixed. No fun hanging around at the track anymore and I was pissed at myself.
It is a famous spot on the Zandvoort track, the Slotemakers Bocht (for you Dutchies out there). Never hit the curb when you go through this turn is THE rule...I did. Perhaps enjoying the car a little too much and I remember telling myself that I should slow down a notch (while passing a 918 after hanging on his tail for half a lap) and a few turns later this happened.
Could have been much worse, I am really lucky. Cosmetics only.

Okay, today we had a good look and the car needs to get straightened.
Engine and transmission out tomorrow and Wednesday it goes on the straightening bench or whatever it is called. Probably another three weeks before I have it back on the road.
I'm checking the transmission while it is out and still needed to switch out the original LSD for the 40/60 Guard one I have waiting here.

Intrax is going to add some stops to the dampers so I won't hit the fenders anymore. That seems to be the best solution. This way I can keep the fenders shaped as they are.

I visited Zandvoort for the first time just a month ago! I really liked it, fast but also technical. And the racing line isn't obvious in every corner so you have to think and trydifferent things which is fun compared to many other tracks where you have to find/learn the line and then just hold on to it.

Hahaha brilliant, do you know the 918 owner? Did you get any vid from your car? Also how are you getting on for grip? Can the rears cope with the power or do you need to be light on the throttle in the lower gears? Im probably going to follow you on your wheel choice so intersted to know how they are holding up to the boost

No other videos unfortunately.
The grip is really good, I really like the Michelins. 285 in the rear helps for sure in combination with the Intrax dampers.
As I am using the 964 turbo gearbox I have longer gears, surely this helps. Only in 1st I have to be gentle. But I like to squeeze the throttle anyway instead of flooring it. Well...mostly.

Congrats on getting your car running like it should. I know Pieter well, we share some common interest in the dark side of P-car ownership

Regarding knock control, VEMS has dual knock sensing capability and with firmwares from version 1.2.20 it is quite easily configurable. I have set it up on my 931 racecar and it is working perfectly even with the noisy valvetrain.

If there is enough interest we can arrange another VEMS group buy, current one is almost done (last two units will be sent out next week).

P.S. One of the group buy units is going onto 964 narrowbody twin turbo 3.8 in Germany, with twin-plug COP solution.

Actually, I do have some updates.

The car is in it final stages to get back on the road. I'll add some photos of the repair.
Everything is ready except for the one turbo which broke. Took a while before I found out nobody in The Netherlands could fix it so I had to send it back to Germany and only did that last Friday.
It is a modified K16 but none of the turbo companies we sent the unit could redo the modification for some reason. As I am in Mexico at the moment I am not sure what the heck (not personally involved in sending the unit).
I guess I'll have the turbo back next week or the next.
When the everything is back together I am going to have the E85 work done, the alcohol sensor, different injectors and remap.
Still looking for the larger 95L tank, can't find one at the moment. Or is it 90L?
Anyway, it would be nice to have one.
Also had my second lightweight battery go up in flames while charging, so I'm done with those. Regular batteries for now unless someone can point me to a reliable unit.
