Question Help with noise - squeak from steering wheel

I get an occasional squeak (high pitched) when slightly turning the steering wheel - if I quickly jiggle wheel back and forth a few degrees can get it too - sounds like something in the steering rack (close to the steering wheel rubbing) - is there anything I can easily access to lubricate?

Sounds like something in there just needs some lithium grease.
(I can get the sound even with car at a standstill)

Thanks!

kinda... but it (the lube) has to be conductive or the horns won't work (i believe).

Are you running an aftermarket wheel or a standard steering wheel?

I never had sounds with the stock wheel, but Jason's solution is what I did on my momo wheel/hub to reduce the weezing noise at low speed turning.

This is the grease I went with, conductive and made for high friction areas.

Vaseline will do the same job for free (same for battery terminals) and you don't need carbon powder.

I ended up applying a small amount of lithium grease to a long cotton tipped swab and placed it around the metal ring that the horn contacts. Squeak gone and didn't have to remove steering wheel.

I get a little squeaky too, but only on really cold days. That's my experience

I found the same thing, highly weather dependent. So far the grease seems to have done the trick as we've had temps from freezing to well below freezing...

Long time ago this post but I have the same craking noise since mounting a momo wheel. Where should I apply the grease exactly ? The copper ring is what goes to the horn, right?
Thanks for the help !
