I've run or heard each of the three individual "deletes" and my take on each:
Cat bypass = same sound as stock, but louder.
Cup pipe = slightly higher note, sportier sound - and louder than cat bypass ("italian" car sound)
G pipe = lower note, unrefined sound, although a nice burble at idle - and louder than a cup pipe ("american" car sound).
i'm currently running a cup pipe. I do like how it sets off cheap car alarms in underground parkades

I have a drilled airbox and Gpipe... I think it's perfect for a street car. Nice rumble and great motorsport sound when flying down an onramp. It was cheap too. Just go to a local muffler shop have them delete the second muffler and add the extension. 200 bucks or less.

Here is a video from the PO... B&B headers and exhaust. He warned me that there is a drone at about 2,500rpm though. I'll see how annoying it gets when I get the car.

There are a lot of options for full muffler systems if that interests you. The most cost effective solution is finding a used primary bypass or secondary bypass. Check your local PCA, you might have a few 964 owners around with one or the other you can hear. I went with a secondary bypass simply because another rennlister had it up for sale when I was looking. Don't hesitate to place an order with fabspeed, their products are top notch and support is simply fantastic.

I have a cat followed by a dual outlet Fabspeed. With both outlets wide open, it is loud, and there is a drone between 3000 & 3800 RPM.
I only go wide open when I'm on the track, otherwise, I made an adjustable baffle for the left outlet in order to introduce some back pressure. This got rid of the drone.

I called the Maxspeed guys to before I purchased the Fabspeed unit to ask who was making the actual CAT because I have read about cheep Chinese sport CATs not being that great. The Maxspeed sales guys had no idea who was actually making the guts to the CAT, so I paid the extra for the Fabspeed unit.

I too have the B&B setup and I could not stand it when I first bought the car, head splitting drone @ ~2.5Krpms. Then in a stroke of genius, I took off the stupid K&N cone filter and put an OEM air box back where it belongs. It nearly eliminated all of the drone (still a little noticeable) and the sound is great.

Need to make quieter muffler -current is 3.8 with dual pipes, no primary, no cats (don't need)
And 2 long narrow boxes transverse behind bumper.
Noise restrictions tightening at track.
So:
Do I go 1 long box or 2 short ones next to each other with a mix tube ala gt3 x pipes? (No cats tho)
Ideal:
Want that RS splutter n popp
And high end scream, low end rumble, no drone ... Possible?
What are the keys to this puzzle?

I am running just a airbox and g-pipe and it sounds awesome. low grubble at idle and then throaty when on the gas. not annoying but just loud enough. when in the garage at idle the house does vibrate a little because of the low bassy sound. the only thing that sucks is I hear the car when I am driving but I want to hear what it sounds like when it is driven by someone else.... have to teach the wife how to drive stick....
