Default pad sensor

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm that when the pad wear sensor light illuminates the central red warning light illuminates also. I have an issue with mine and think it may be the central informer that is faulty not a short or break in the wiring system. My pad warning light is more often than not on while driving but i never get the main warning light with the big exclamation mark come on with it.

The pads and sensors are all good and have checked continuity through p1/10 to p2/10 in the CI

Thanks in advance, Raoul

Raul,

My pad wear sensor is on at the moment even though the wires are disconnected and tied up! One of them is touching the bodywork I guess. The ! does not illuminate with the (O) sign.

Cheers,

Mark 90 C2.

Thanks Mark.

As i understand it your light will stay on unless you bridge ports p1/10 and p2/10 in the CI under the dash to complete the circuit. Disconnecting them recreates your senors breaking the circuit as your pads wear down to the limit.

Next step is to try a known working CI in place of mine.

I'm not sure about that as my (O) light has been off for the past 12 months with the sensors cable-tied out of the way.......... ?

I read that you said your light was on, sorry. Electrics is the devils work to me.

Thanks Jack, 2 confirmations is enough for me. I thought if it did it might confirm the CI is buggered. Still think that's the problem though. Couple on ebay for around £60 so may take a punt.
