I have the classic sat nav, I cant fault it, the only real complaints I have heard about it are its looks and the fact that it doesnt sit flush into the dash due to the removable screen front (it purtrudes about 10mm)

Thanks ! It's better than I expected to be honest. Music quality is excellent and lets be right, it doesn't need to be concert hall standard in a sports car with a boxer in the rear barking away 
My only reservation is that the screen is small and it gets reflection during the day but, I forgave that as it does phone connection and verbal sat/nav instructions very well.
You don't need a cable for the iPod/iPhone it streams via Bluetooth connection, unless it's an old iPod which doesn't have Bluetooth in which case you will need a wire. I'm sure there will be a connection socket at the back of the unit which can be fed into glove compartment, I'll check it out for you if need be?
Tracks can be changed via the remote, touchscreen or iPhone itself, as can the volume (left hand ****).

A couple of points on the sat nav, they are only available with the PORSCHE script on them now and the updates arent cheap! They are £175 inc

Awesome Paul... You gotta like the Speedlines. My brother in-law has a 3.6 Turbo and those Speedlines and fat arches say it all. Thought on a narrow body it wouldn't be so cool - not now though!

Hi Marcus,
It's my son's 1972 Karmann Ghia, the next best thing to a Porsche when you are 17 years old.
We restored it as a project for when he passed his test. He's had it 4 years now.

They are a really beautiful car. Jochen Bader who is head of Porsche Factory Classic thinks so too, this is his with a GT3 engine in the back.

haven't seen a Gia in the state for a long time now. Too much salt on the roads for those to stay around long. Nice restoration on that

Apologies, I have just restored the previously missing photos, or what I think was there before I re-organised my Photobucket and they went walkabout
Update:
No new photos yet but some promised soon.
The engine is out and stripped down. Nick says it's in really good condition for mileage with no nasty surprises. I know the engine is going to be completely rebuilt but it's nice to know the remaining stuff is good.
All the required parts are on their way for the full top & bottom build as follows giving 350Hp approx:
PMO Throttle bodies.
ITG Air Filters
Injectors
Fit ecu,throttle bodies, wiring loom and map engine.
Motec M84
Engine harness.
Fast lambda.
Throttle switch.
Air temp sensor.
Engine temp sensor.
Throttle position kit.
RS lightweight flywheel & GT3 clutch.
Blue print top end build; including RSR cams, heavy duty valve springs.Titanium retainers.
New TRW valves, guides, chains and guides.
Clean out oil ways in cam spay tubes.
Shot peen rockers.
Reface cylinder heads.
Heavy ARP duty head studs.
Blend ports and throats.
Rocker shaft seal kit.
New oil drain tubes
3.8 Malhe Barrels and pistons
Blueprinted bottom end build including; balance crank assemblies, polish crank.
Boat tail case.
All new Glyco bearings.
Cosmetics, renew as required and powder coat all engine tins and rocker covers black.
Powder coat (newly fitted) rear bumper stays and middle section metal strip.
Refinish fan assembly.
Re-plate all steel bright ware
Oils, filters.
Steel connecting rods (hp gain).
Exhaust system, fabricated to fit 964 twin outlet.
The above is mainly Nick Fulljames' spec. to bring me the desired effect i.e. straight-line grunt and engine longevity. Most of this stuff is way over my head but I know Nick will have it bang on. In the meantime I've taken to the sad habit of staring at an empty space in my garage, I know most of you have been there

Nick reckons 4-5 weeks from start of work (this week), obviously that will depend on all parts arriving on time from the suppliers and powder-coated parts being done but so far so good.

I remember reading about baders kg a few years ago in vw ultra or v,world and was amazed by how factory looking it all looked..... Makes sence now & always helps if your head of Porsche classic!! Very nice hot rod & done to perfection.
