Today I felt a bit more confidentwith the vinyl and worked on a side mirror. Again this was a real biotch to do. The round edges are a real pita. But as shown in the picture below, the only way to get the creases out is to heat the vinyl an tug/pull at it:

nice. the glass is easy to remove and it might help to get the wrap into the cavity.

The carbon look to the lower rocker is fantastic. How did you manage to cut it in the recess without breaking through the original paint?

I've tried to remove the glass from the mirror assy, as posted here on Rennlist, but find it very difficult and abandoned that idea. May try again with the driver side.

A ruller, piece of cardboard and lots of patience,...

Anyway, its been a while and have not made significant progress, its too cold in the garage and the vinyl tend to crack rather than stretching. So the only work I can do are the small pieces that I can bring in the basement, like roccker pannels, shark fins, rear bumper was disssassembled and need to be wash, wax, prep and wrapped.

In the mean time, I received all of my new seals: door handle, mirror, rocker pannel, shark fin, headligh trim, hood emlem, and the little black plastic/rubber caps that goes on the headlight rims.

I was also busy taking appart the door handle and internal locking barel, which I took to a local locksmith for cleanng/lubbing. The door became very hard to unlock, there was so much old grease harden up inside, I think the previous owner keep on adding graphite powder, but there was a lot of biuld up inside and didnt work right. I also maneged to repaint the door handle. There were somewhat faded or mat.

Weekend progress: One side done,... and reassembly of mirror, door handle, and headlight rim.
The black seals realy pop now with this color. I like the contrast.

Seeing your car has changed my mind about wraps.

The emblem stand much more on a ligher car.
What was it that made the hood such a pain?

I know its a big panel, but bar that what was the issue?

BTW car looks stunning, keep up the great work

Did you use any "Squish" or spray on liquid soap solution to help position the film easier. Then once in position, you squeegee the solution out and the film sticks in place. I didn't see this in any photos and it really makes the job easier.
Just wondering?

Any updates...? Curious to know how the vinyl secures itself in areas such as the door gaps - especially where lines meet, such as the top of the fender nearest the windshield.
