Contacted lws a while ago.
They only make a fibreglass roof skin for a 964.
No delete panel. Unless they have started producing them recently.

May try a delete panel.
Then when funds allow weld the roof up.

The costs for the other options involving the purchase of an infill panel don't end there. They require far more labour to fit. I mulled over these options for a while (new skin was never on the cards) and eventually opted to weld & bond in the existing panel.
What's the gain on this over just keeping the sunroof though? Weight savings will be pretty minimal..

Weight saving must be 90%? of filling the panel in completely with Fibreglass or a Fenn Lane panel

The weight is in the 'cassette' and mechanism, all of which is removed, with only the panel itself put back in

Cut the whole roof and replace it with a new roof

>what are the weight savings?

When I did this in this thread here

...it came out as

"The sunroof panel itself weights 5.1kg and the waste material 7.6kg (excluding the thin metal internal retracting cover)"

So all in its about 8kg saving from the highest point on the car. The stock sunroof panel is double skinned so could be picked apart to drop a bit more. I wish I'd gone that bit further with it.

I did the mod primarily to increase cabin headroom for when you have a crash-hat on and secondly for weight.

I carried out a sunroof delete for a customer earlier this year using a Fenn lane panel, it worked out well.

Pictures here if it helps anyone.

Guys,

Have heard that welding in a panel, such as the Fenn Lane item often results in cracked welds later on as the rood twists under normal use and track work. Anyone know anyhting about this? I know replacing the whole rood is the best option but it is just too expensive.

Jack, why not just wait and save up for an "add-a-rooftome". It really does seem to be the best option - if it takes an year of saving, I'd wager well worth it.

I have done 13k spirited miles since fitting the panel, including chasing you around Spa.

No cracking, although the filler did shrink back slightly so the trained eye can see a line, which bothers me.

My chap used a http://www.u-pol.co.uk/product-cat/85/body-fillers.htm filler. Unsure which one but he was particular about it to avoid cracking.

Yes but I believe your roof was bonded and not welded?
