Default CDR-220 faceplate mod

I am about to fit a CDR-220/CDC-3 in my 964 and read about the faceplate being unreadable.

becker wants $100.00 and your old faceplate for this mod and I thought this was a bit expensive, then I did a bit of searching (our search feature has got to be the best on the web) and found this:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...at-a-time.html

and contacted jcorenman about his mod and it seems he does a adjustable mod (small hole for access to a trim pot using a jewlers screwdriver) for $40 or a fixed read angle for $20. this seems like a much more affordable fix than beckers fix for the CDR-220.

thought I would share my find with the 964 crowd as I have seen a couple posts about a few fitting the CDR-220 into their cars

you can send jcorenman a PM here:

Jim seems a very nice guy and is willing to help send him a shout.

I installed a CDR 220 in mine over the winter and bought the faceplate and iPhone interface cable from http://www.swstereo.com. They charged me $ 100.00 for the faceplate less $45.00 for my old one. I thought that was a really good deal and they are very nice people to do business with. no affiliation.............
