It depends where you go. Your configuration will likely be OK for tracks with 105 db static test limits e.g. Oulton Park and Silverstone but you might have issues with tracks with lower limits e.g. Donington, Bedford, Castle Combe, Brands Hatch and Croft.

My own configuration is decat, standard primary and standard secondary and I don't have problems on any tracks.

Recently at Donington Grant's bespoke exhaust failed the 98 db driveby and so did Andrew's which has a G pipe. Surprisingly, Josh's turbo also failed but was able to get back on by turning the boost down and keeping the revs down.

in terms of the noise question. Pretty sure my car is just running the G Pipe and have had issues this year. I wasnt allowed on the the Nurburgring as failed there static at 101DB (supposedly needs to be 100 max) and at Donington was told that I registered 105DB's on track and wasnt going to be allowed back on unless I made some sort of exhaust mod (which obviously i didnt have on me). I was fortunate in that I was able to "persuade" the officials to let me back on sans a fix.

I am actually looking at silencers and found this which looks good. They are about £70. Seems an easier solution on the day if any problems come up. If anyone has found any other options let me know as wouldnt mind having one with me just in case.

There is a specific 964 option which is a tailpipe with a baffle in it (pic below). You just have to swap it for your normal tailpipe. However it's about 250 quid so it would be well worth looking into that 70 quid option (which I've not seen before).

Yeah I've been looking at their stuff also - it's probably what I'll do... they're claiming 108db to 103db on a 964...

Also Design Tek have an option but it doesn't look as secure... and tad expensive for what it is.

Good picture Frank....we can actually see how it fits now.

At that sort of price it would be well worth having one as a spare to take to the track and fit it as and when needed.

Here are a couple more from their Facebook page... the construction looks rather robust. The exhaust wrap looks like a good idea.

I will be joining you on track as soon as my engine is rebuilt. It "should" be ready mis September. I am doing anglesey on 9 Sept but suspect I will have to use the 996.

I have a g-pipe currently and it doesn't sound as load as my standard (with PSE) 996.

I have friend with a decat that I would like to firt but dont want to fall foul of noise limits.

Group buy sounds a good idea....just measured my tail pipe and the OD is 3", so according to their site I need a DD3.0

Their distro "Advantage Motorsport" have an ebay site for my size ... they also sell a few of the other sizes!

It'd be interesting to know, BU, if you get yours for Brands and can also do a before and after test too, we can then do a comparison on how it works with different systems!
