Decided to go the FD motorsports route.
And look what I found on my doorstep yesterday.
Can't wait to install this. Going to replace the bushings and get a new boot for the linkage while I'm at it.

Will do.
I think the unmodified RS lever it would be something like this:
With FD kit (according to their instructions) you only have to put a small indentation on the tunnel cover with a hammer. Think it's 3/8". Their lever is modified to be shorter where it attaches to the rod. You can also adjust the forward and back position of the lever with the rod you see in the pic.
