My trunk release arm (the lever close to the clutch pedal) is not working. I pull it but it doesn't open the trunk. What might be wrong with it? Is there a DIY for it?

I don't really know but I thought I read something about being able to access the...or another...cable from the front left wheel well area. Getting it open would at least allow you to get a better look at what's going on.

I believe that 91+ had the emergency release cable. If you can get at the cable inside your car, put a vice grip on it and pull, then replace the cable. If not,there are many threads about this issue. If your car does not have the emergency cable, you should install some, front & rear.

I need to investigate the latch on my '91 and see if I can add an emergency cable.
