Default Burned by Auto Atlanta

So this is how a $3.62 Mirror gasket can end up costing you 89.50

It starts off simple, when putting on my Areo Mirrors I realize I am missing one of the mirror base trim.

I figure Auto Atlanta is on the east cost and the shipping will be kind of quick up to CT. So I call and check to see if they are in stock and get a YES. The only problem is they have 25 min order. No problem, I will get a few little things to get to $25. A few days go buy and no package shows up so I call and am told they had to order them. I ask Auto Atlanta to 2day the parts to me so I don't have to keep driving around with two different mirrors. Two days go by and no package so I call them again and am told the parts should be in today or tomorrow. Now it has been about a week so I ask if they can put it in a fedEX envelop and overnight them. Lucky me, I just got them today 10 days after the said they had them in stock. And the price for this extra quick shipping $60. I can fedEX envelop stuff all day long for $25, I guess it is really hard to get stuff out of ATL.

Anyway I am stiil going to make the best of the day. The 964 is getting corner balanced and I hope to pick it up tonight

I asked auto atlanta to confirm if their coils were black in colour.
They replied and confirmed, yes.
I ordered the coils.
When they arrived they were silver.
Also burned.
Never again.

Still waiting for my left and right rear lenses and centre reflector ordered a month ago from AL. Delays in initial shipping by two weeks and then waiting another two weeks after supposedly shipped and nothing yet.
I usually order my stuff from EBS and they are brilliant.
Immediate email replies and delivered to my door in Australia in no more than three days from the US.
I have sent several emails to Auto Atlanta regarding the whereabouts of my lights and still waiting for a reply.
I spent $700! If they are not here soon I will raise hell.

That's crazy! I know Porsche NA didn't have the right side 964 tail lights in stock a few weeks ago and they had to come from Germany, so a lot of vendors in the US were out. I had a customer in Japan who needed a bunch of them and I only had 3 in stock at the time, but they should be at least upfront and give you the real story and send you an email update.

Had a nightmare of a transaction with Auto Atlanta when attempting to purchase tie rods for a 944 turbo manual steering rack. That was my first and last transaction with Auto Atlanta. Never again!

I was a little shocked to have such a bad experience. I will stick to Pelican and Sunset from now on.

FYI - for qualifying orders, Pelican offers 3-Day shipping for $3 to the East Coast!

Yep, Pelican - Sunset - Autohaus AZ are pretty much it for me too, though Sunset usually wins since they are local.

I know and can understand why a lot of us use Pelican and Sunset (me too!), but I've recently had extremely good service and pricing from my local Porsche dealer. They frequently (a) have the part I need in stock (and with no shipping charge); and (b) their prices often match Pelican's. And with the 10% discount they offer all PCA members, I'm way ahead. Just an fyi.
